Things are heating up for The Innovative Company, a consortium of three award-winning hot sauce entrepreneurs. They joined forces in 2008 to offer exciting new sauces and create and distribute for businesses. Their own sauces are flying off the shelves, and they’re helping a growing number of companies enjoy publicity that makes a profit.

David Ashley Ashley Food Company, Chris McCarthy Insane Chicken, Charlie Schandelmayer Sauce Crafters have 48 years of food industry experience collectively. Ever since they founded The Innovative Company, it’s been a hot commodity. They manufacture and distribute their own products, with hair-raising names such as Deadman Hot Sauce and Afterlife Ghost Pepper Sauce. They also produce and distribute private label sauces for small and large clients, including a successful line or sauces for the B&O Railroad Museum and a sauce for Save A Dog a dog rescue organization.

“We provide this great opportunity for a corporation, nonprofit, restaurant, grocery store, or any business to promote itself and earn some money at the same time,” says Chris McCarthy. “How often can you say that about a marketing scheme?”

The Innovative Company offers its own recipes for custom label sauces or will produce a client’s recipe in quantity. It also offers a variety of pre-printed labels, from the beautiful to the absurd, with client information added at production time, or it can produce custom labels.

“We pride ourselves on the attractiveness of our labels,” says David Ashley. “We work with excellent artists, so our labels make a strong impression – and have a lot of shelf appeal if they’re being sold in a retail outlet.”

The Innovative Company has multiple web stores promoting its products and services and will continually unveil new microsites for new products, each with a profile of the artist who created the product label.

“If you don’t have a good time in a business like this, you must have one foot in the grave,” says Charlie Schandelmayer. “We like to help companies have a little fun while they promote themselves and make a profit at the same time.”

The Innovative Company, founded by three award-winning hot sauce entrepreneurs, has released two flaming new red- and peri-peri-pepper-based hot sauces, Radical Red and Deadman, and two lucky New England artists will share in the profits. The sauce’s eye-popping labels were created by two contest-winners, including John Belancik of Paths & Pixels in Newington, Connecticut, and their designs will bring them royalties on every bottle sold. Innovative works with the Connecticut Art Directors Club to find its label designers.

Sudbury, Massachusetts (PRWeb) July 25, 2011 – The Innovative Company was founded by three award-winning hot sauce entrepreneurs, who have just released their newest sauces, Radical Red and Deadman. Both sauces feature tasty roasted red pepper and deadly peri-peri peppers, said by some to be the hottest pepper in Africa. The striking labels for these two sauces were created by two New England artists, who won an Innovative contest—one artist remains anonymous but the other, John Belancik III, is the founder and creative force behind Paths & Pixels in Newington, Connecticut. These designers will be paid royalties for each bottle of their sauces sold. The Innovative Company partnered with the Connecticut Art Directors Club to create the label design contest, open to all New England artists.

“The peri-peri pepper used in these sauces is one of the most popular these days,” says David Ashley, owner of Ashley Food Company and an Innovative partner. “It’s the one that packs the punch underneath the roasted peppers.”

Peri-peri peppers – also known as birdseye peppers – grow wild in tropical Africa, where they are popular in Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Mozambique. The peppers were first used outside of Africa by the Portuguese. They can reach 175,000 on the Scoville Scale, which measure the intensity of the heat generated in the mouth by hot peppers.

The Innovative Company has been producing and distributing private label sauces for small and large clients, including a successful line for the B&O Museum and a sauce for Save a Dog, a dog rescue organization. It has now produced its own sauces for a year.

“We wanted to do something different – and fun – with our labels,” says Chris McCarthy, founder of Insane Chicken another partner at Innovative. “An artist friend of David’s introduced him to the Connecticut club, and we decided to have them help us find real artists to design the labels.”

Belancik, who designed the sultry Radical Red label, says he decided to “push it to a place that was unique and would stand out from the labels currently on the market.” He came up with a redhead in a short skirt, garters and stockings, straddling a hot pepper. “Some may say it was a little ‘racy’ of an illustration, but it did its job with creating a buzz around the label.” Innovative hopes it will do the same in the marketplace. The Deadman label shows the chalk outline of a “murder” victim with a bottle of hot sauce near his hand and yellow crime scene tape above him.

“That’s a killer label,” says Charlie Schandelmayer, founder of Sauce Crafters and The Innovative Company’s third partner. “And so is John’s for Radical Red – though he kills you with…uh… love. It’s great having such creative people putting their stamp on our products. It makes us unique.”

The Innovative Company LLC is a partnership between David Ashley (Ashley Food Company, Chris McCarthy (Insane Chicken), Charlie Schandelmayer (Sauce Crafters), who have a combined 46 years of experience in the food business. We manufacture many lines of our own products and co-pack products for other companies, private label large or small account, and we store and ship products. We currently operate 20 web sites and will be adding several more in the near future.

Sudbury, Massachusetts (PRWeb) July 22, 2011 – The Innovative Company, founded by three award-winning hot sauce entrepreneurs, has just released its newest hot sauces, Devil Juice and Dead Zone. The sauces’ main ingredient is the searing, citrusy habanero chili pepper, highly popular on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. The sinister sauce labels were created by two contest-winning artists, Deb Kline and Shannon Brenek, whose talents will enable them to reap royalties from the sale of each bottle of sauce. The Innovative Company initiated its label design contest with the Connecticut Art Directors Club, to showcase New England artists and enable them earn from their work.

“Both of these sauces are based on the habanero, but they’re roasted for Devil Juice and straight up for Dead Zone,” says Charlie Schandelmayer, founder of Sauce Crafters and a partner in The Innovative Company. “Dead Zone also has wine vinegar and Devil Juice uses fresh onion, garlic, and lime juice. They’re different, but equally good.”

Often compared to the Scotch bonnet—which is also thin, waxy, and killer hot—habaneros generally hit 200,000-300,000 on the Scoville hotness scale. The exact origin of the habanero is unknown, but its speculated that it originated in South America, eventually made it to Mexico, and was disseminated by the Spanish from there to the rest of the world.

The Innovative Company has been producing and distributing private label sauces for small and large clients, including a successful line for the B&O Museum and a sauce for Save a Dog, a dog rescue organization. It has now produced its own sauces for a year.

Having artists create labels for each of the company’s new sauces was an idea that originated with David Ashley, owner of Ashley Food Company and another Innovative partner. “Hot sauce is a fun food, so I thought the labels should be fun and attractive, too,” he says. An artist friend introduced him to the Connecticut club that cosponsors the label design contest.

Devil Juice label artist Kline, a packaging and brand design consultant and adjunct faculty member in the Visual Communication Design Department at the Hartford Art School, says, “I wanted a bold graphic label and played with the old adage ‘the devil is in the details.’” She recognized that it’s the details in the ingredients that make a great sauce. Brenek, a design and strategy consultant and adjunct faculty member at Mitchell College, designed a floating death’s head flanked by flames for Dead Zone. “I actually created it rather quickly for the contest, and winning was a real surprise!” she says.

“It’s exciting to marry hot sauces with hot designers,” says Chris McCarthy, founder of Insane Chicken and Innovative’s third partner. “We get great labels. They get exposure for their work and a cut of the profits. Everybody wins.”

The Innovative Company has just released Boom, a cayenne-rich hot sauce that offers potential health benefits and a chance to share royalties with artists. The sauce’s explosive label was created by a contest-winning artist, whose design will enable him to receive royalties on Boom’s sales. Innovative has teamed up with the Connecticut Art Directors Club to find artists to design labels for its new products.

Sudbury, Massachusetts (PRWeb) February 17, 2011 – The Innovative Company, the brainchild of three award-winning hot sauce entrepreneurs, has just released its newest hot sauce product, Boom. The sauce’s main ingredient is extremely hot – and extremely healthy – cayenne pepper. The explosive Boom label was created by a contest-winning artist, who will reap royalties from the sale of each bottle of Boom. The Innovative Company initiated the contest to showcase New England artists and let them share in the profits from their work. The company worked with the Connecticut Art Directors Club to set up the contest.

“Boom has a powerful aged cayenne pepper base that is enhanced with garlic and vinegar,” says Chris McCarthy, founder of Insane Chicken and a partner in The Innovative Company. “Not only is cayenne a delicious pepper, but it’s been shown to have an incredible variety of health benefits.”

Ancient societies, particularly those of the Americas and China, have long used cayenne pepper to treat ailments and maintain health. To give some examples of the benefits for which cayenne pepper has been touted, it’s been used as a digestive aid; as an anti-fungal, anti-allergen, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory; as a migraine preventative; as an anti-cold and flu agent; and even as a cancer-fighting agent!

The Innovative Company has been producing and distributing private label sauces for small and large clients (including a successful line for the B&O Railroad Museum and a sauce for Save a Dog, a dog rescue organization) and is now producing its own sauces.

It was David Ashley, owner of Ashley Food Company and another Innovative partner, who came up with the idea to have artists create the labels for each of the company’s new sauces. “Hot sauce labels should be fun and attractive—it’s that kind of product,” he says. An artist friend of Ashley’s directed him to the Connecticut Art Directors Club, and, through them, The Innovative Company sought label designs from artists all over New England via a contest.

The artist who designed the Boom label did it anonymously—though he’ll be indentified on his royalty checks! He says, “I wanted to capture the essence of the product while having some fun in creating both a name and eye catching design. Let’s face it, a hot sauce conjures up all kinds of visuals, especially when you take that first bite!”

“We were very excited about the results of the contest,” says Charlie Schandelmayer, founder of Sauce Crafters and the third partner in The Innovative Company, Innovative’s third partner. “The artists really outdid themselves. In return, we give them an opportunity to share in the profits.”

Save A Dog Hot Sauce is named after the Massachusetts-based non-profit organization that has rescued over 3000 dogs since 1999. Save A Dog teamed up with The Innovative Company LLC to offer a custom label hot sauce just in time for holiday gift giving. The three hot sauce connoisseurs who founded The Innovative Company have pledged 50% of Save A Dog Hot Sauce’s retail sales as an ongoing donation year round. This charitable contribution will allow Save A Dog to rescue more homeless, abandoned dogs for years to come. With over 8 million pets being euthanized annually, Save A Dog’s mission is enormous, much greater than current funding permits.

Sudbury, MA (PRWEB), December 6, 2010 — Save A Dog is an all-volunteer organization that relies solely on donations to rescue and find homes for over 300 dogs per year. Dog-loving David Ashley of http://theinnovativecompany.com [The Innovative Company, LLC] discovered Save A Dog of Sudbury, Massachusetts when searching for a Labrador to adopt. Meeting Shirley Moore, founder of Save A Dog, has a happy ending. Titan, a beautiful black lab from Tennessee, found a new home and Save A Dog Hot Sauce was born.

Moore and her team of over 100 volunteers carefully match dogs with dog lovers who have the same temperament and who meet the exercise and time requirements of pet ownership. http://theinnovativecompany.com [The Innovative Company] matches the needs of its clients for a one-of-a-kind flavor and a hot sauce personality with innovative label design, bottling and distribution. http://saveadog.org [Save A dog] and The Innovative Company is a match made in heaven, generating additional revenue to support the humane society.

According to Save a Dog’s founder, “Rescuing and rehoming dogs is one of the most satisfying and rewarding things you can ever do. I look at it as God’s work and feel that this mission is truly my calling as it is a work of mending broken hearts and giving people unconditional love.”

The owners of The Innovative Company also love what they do. David Ashley of Sudbury, Massachusetts, Chris McCarthy of Norwell, Massachusetts and Charlie Schandelmayer of Atlantis, Florida have won numerous awards for the innovative hot sauces they produce. They have helped many other organizations create new hot sauce products. “We provide this great opportunity for a corporation, nonprofit, restaurant, grocery store, or any business to promote itself and earn money at the same time,” says McCarthy.

Schandelmayer, one of the three owners of The Innovative Company believes “the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” He explains, “We created http://www.hotsaucehq.com/store/Save-a-Dog-Hot-Sauce.html [Save A Dog Hot Sauce] to help rescue man’s best friend. Raising money for this worthy cause is a winning formula for both organizations.” More awareness of Save A Dog’s mission will lead to more donations to support standard medical care for incoming rescue dogs which includes vaccinations, heartworm test, blood tests, worming, and spay or neuter services.

If a dog is man’s best friend and if the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, then Save a Dog Hot Sauce is the perfect gift.

The sauce’s colorful label was created by a contest-winning artist, Beth Ann Strong who will receive royalties on sales. The contest was held in collaboration with the Connecticut Art Directors Club to showcase and support Connecticut designers and artists.

Sudbury, Massachusetts (PRWeb) October 8, 2010 – The Innovative Company, a consortium of three award-winning hot sauce entrepreneurs, has just released its premier hot sauce product, Hot Hippo [add link when microsite is up]. The sauce’s main ingredient is the very hot – in taste and popularity – peri-peri pepper, claimed by some to be the hottest pepper in Africa. The colorful and amusing Hot Hippo label is also the first created by a contest-winning artist, Beth Ann Strong who will be given royalties on the sale of each bottle. The contest was conceived by The Innovative Company as a way to showcase and assist artists, and it worked with the Connecticut Art Directors Club to make it happen. The Innovative Company plans to produce more of its labels this way.

“Hot Hippo is an exciting beginning for us,” says Charlie Schandelmayer, founder of Sauce Crafters and a partner in The Innovative Company. “The peri-peri pepper – also known as the African devil – has a unique, wonderful flavor that’s got hot sauce users all heated up. It may be the most popular pepper out there – and for good reason.”

The Innovative Company has been producing and distributing private label sauces for small and large clients – including a successful line for the B&O Railroad Museum and a sauce for Save a Dog, a dog rescue organization – and is now releasing four of its own sauces.

“We’re even excited about the labels on our new products,” says David Ashley, owner of Ashley Food Company and another Innovative partner. “Hot sauce labels should be fun and attractive, right? So, we thought, why not get designers and artists like Beth Ann to create them?”

“I had fun creating the artwork and copy for the label,” says Strong. “I’m always looking for creative outlets and a chance to do something out of the ordinary. The Innovative Company has started a new tradition that gives opportunities for graphic designers to apply their ideas – and earn some bragging rights in the process.”

“The contest was an amazing success,” says Chris McCarthy of Insane Chicken, Innovative’s third partner. “We got fantastic labels and the artists will get publicity and share in our monetary success. They’ll appear on our website, and, if they want, we’ll even link to their artist websites from our site.”

*

The Innovative Company LLC is a partnership between David Ashley (Ashley Food Company, Chris McCarthy (Insane Chicken), Charlie Schandelmayer (Sauce Crafters), who have a combined 46 years of experience in the food business. We manufacture many lines of our own products and co-pack products for other companies, private label large or small account, and we store and ship products. We currently operate 11 web stores and will be adding several more in the near future.

History and innovative thinking are moving full steam ahead at The Innovative Company. The company known for creating and distributing custom-label hot sauces has introduced an incredibly fresh new line of branded hot sauces. B&O Railroad Hot Sauce is the newest example of the company’s entrepreneurial spirit and incredible talent for taste.

Legendary locomotive engines are fired up in new line of commemorative, all natural B&O Railroad hot sauces.

Sudbury, Massachusetts, October 4, 2010 — The Innovative Company LLC, a creator of private label and co-branded hot sauces, has introduced a new branded line of hot sauces to commemorate the B & O Railroad who’s home is now the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore. Named after the pioneering Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company that started the first American common carrier railroad in 1828, the B&O Railroad Hot Sauce line includes four blends that celebrate this important and iconic part of American history.

The first sauce is called Ghost Train. This all natural hot sauce gets its inspiration from a mysterious part of locomotive history — the phantom trains that eyewitnesses have seen moving down tracks in both the US and abroad. Made with the world’s hottest pepper, the Bhut Jolokia pepper, Ghost Train features a hauntingly detailed etching of an old locomotive steam engine.

Next in the line up is Firebox Hot Sauce, with its ‘Full Steam Ahead’ descriptor on the label. Featuring a blend of Cayenne and Chipotle peppers, this hot sauce is named after the heart of the great steam locomotive engine, the firebox.

Completing the commemorative B&O Railroad Hot Sauce line are Thunder Fire and Iron Thunder. Thunder Fire is an all-natural habanero, lime juice and garlic sauce that features a distinctly art deco locomotive on the label and a call to “live life with fire”. Iron Thunder is a cayenne and garlic sauce with another great steaming locomotive heading right for the beholder of this richly red hot sauce.

Sauce creator, crafter and partner of the Innovative Company LLC, David Ashley says, “This line of sauces represents a great combination of all natural fiery hot sauces and a legendary brand, the B&O Railroad.” Ashley goes on to state, “Working with the B&O Railroad Museum has been a fascinating experience and discovery in this unique aspect of American history.”

“We’re excited at the opportunity,” says Ashley, “It’s clear that it took a lot of fire and determination to create the great B&O Railroad. Thanks to a licensing agreement with the B&O Railroad Museum, we’re can help commemorate some of the essence of this great American railroad.”

The Innovative Company is a specialty hot sauce creator, manufacturer and retailer of private label and licensed brand hot sauces. It’s newest addition, the B&O Railroad hot sauces are sold online at www.URL.com and at the B&O Railroad Museum located in Baltimore, Maryland.

The B&O Railroad Museum serves as trustee of the history of the B&O Railroad and operates a 40-acre museum in Baltimore dedicated to preserving and presenting great locomotive examples and artifacts from the B&O Railroad. Information about the museum can be found at borail.org.
